An open letter to Mr. Brendan freakin' Rodgers and his team…

An open letter to Mr. Brendan Rodgers and his team

Dear Brendan Rodgers and the whole Liverpool team who lost to Arsenal,

After taking some times to cool my head, based on the overall analysis of the match, and the manner of how we lost the match, I can objectively concluded that you and your team was not yet 100% serious about challenging for the title.

The reasons were very clear:

1. Wrong mindset and mentality.

It was our most important match of the season so far. For a club which does not participate in European competitions, THIS match was—and should’ve been seen as important as any knockout match in European competition. And yet, we did not see any sense or gestures of urgency coming from either you or your team. There was no hunger, no determination, no real intent to win in every aspect of the game. (If you need any references, simply play any videos from the Merseyside derby, you’ll get my point.)

2. Wrong objective.

Based on the stats and the current situations of both clubs, we should be aware that the odd was against us; hence the primary objective should’ve been “To get—at least—a point from the match” and focusing most of our resources to defuse their strategy, while at the same time keep trying to steal goals and 3 points whenever the rare opportunity arise. Honestly, from the way your team played, I don’t see they’re pursuing any clear objective at all.

3. Wrong strategy.

It doesn’t take a strategical genius such as yourself, even we—the armchair football analysts, from thousands of miles away—can see that Arsenal’s strength is also their Achilles heel: Their religious commitment towards aesthetic-based football. It’s very dependant on time and space, especially on the counter attack. Yet we did not make their life any harder by pressing and limiting them the time and space; hence the two goals we deservedly conceded for our inability to defuse their rather predictable strategy.

Those are the major deciding aspects of our defeat, I don’t want to scrutinise any details on the starting 11 or any particular player’s performance, since those were simply a side effect of above-mentioned key aspects.

Another disappointing facts are the way they made us eat our own medicine; as the team whose strategy derived from a manifesto of patience possession-based play and one-touch flowing pass, we were limited of any meaningful ball possession and severely out-passed by Arsenal. Shame…

To ad insult to the injury; the way your players trying to ease the damage and appease the supporters by uttering one of the cliché about how we’re going to react in the next match. Gosh, that was really comforting—NOT! It was actually rather insulting, knowing the fact that you and your team had so many chances to REACT during the match, yet (Apart from playing Coutinho) there were no significant effort made to show any positive reaction.

Just like any Liverpool’s loyal and avid supporter, I have only one interest: To see Liverpool conquering the league title once again… the rest was only a consolation prize. So, please stop talking the talk about how lethal SAS are, the progress we’ve made, how good we’ve become, etc… and start focusing on walking the walk, grinding results from every single match—week in, week out.

Stop giving us false hope, start producing real results; starting now. I’m sure you know how, otherwise feel free to give me a call.

YNWA,

Bobon Kurniawan.

Static.Gerrard.Made.Lucas'.Life.Harder.

The results are there.

Title challenge? Mirip ama Spurs musim lalu, yg uber2an ama Arsenal utk peringkat 4. Ujung2nya cuma dapet no 5. The progress is there! With some addition then we can surely challenge for title next season.

Om Brendan Rodgers belon juga 1,5 tahun megang LFC. Dia mewarisi LFC yg kalahan, ga punya winning mentality, inferior even di depan klub medioker. Kita fans juga ngerasain itu kan? Ada rasa "ga yakin LFC menang" bahkan pas lawan klub calon degradasi sekalipun. Budget yg tersedia utk ngebangun tim juga terbatas, krn owner bukan raja minyak Arab plus owner dah belajar dari pengalaman "dikerjain" Comolli, beli pemain mahal gaji gede minim kontribusi. Dgn kondisi & keterbatasan ini, om Brendan baru mulai nancepin kukunya musim ini. LFC main dgn sistem yg dia mau dgn pemain2 yg dia pilih.

Give him times, he'll be the next Shankly hopefully. YNWA Ndan!
We have an army of supporters around the world and at Anfield they all come in to really give that support to the team. It's a real cauldron. - Brendan Rodgers

Mengapa saya membahas masalah kekalahan sementara kompetisi masih berjalan ?
Sejak musim kompetisi 1999/2000,
Liverpool paling buruk mengalami kekalahan selama satu musim kompetisi hanya 10
Reds. Ada apa dengan mu Liverpool ?
